Arvind Kejrival

WHO IS ARVIND KEJRIWAL?

* Cleared JEE and became an engineer from IIT.

* Cleared UPSC and became an IRS officer.

* Started a very successful NGO to bring the benefits of RTI to people who need it the most. Won Magsaysay award for this work.

* Started, spearheaded and managed one of the largest anti-corruption movement in the history of India. In the period of pessimism this movement is considered to be one that "woke up" the nation.

* In a country which feared it was "trapped" between Congress and BJP forever, created a new political party which has emerged as an alternative to the two main parties, at least for people of Delhi now.

* Became Chief Minister of Delhi as a new entrant in politics. And now is back as CM for 5 years with thumping majority!

Just based on the values of the organization he heads, and gives direction to he was able to get 4 Lok Sabha seats in the state of Punjab where the party had no real presence 4 months before.
Is one of the few politicians in India, whose public image is clean, incorruptible and unimpeachable for crores of his followers.

Now read all the above points in isolation. In India if a person achieves even one of the above we call them a "hero". It is no doubt that there are some achievements that others people also have made, but for a rest few perhaps he is the only person in the country to have achieved it.

Arvind Kejriwal has tremendous organization skills, ability to rise from failure. On one hand he is the leader of poor masses. There is hope of Kejriwal becoming in CM of Delhi in every low income house hold of Delhi today. On the other hand, Kejriwal inspires and charms the highly educated intellectual and NRIs, who pour in online donations to enable him to run his campaigns.

Let's look at Kejriwal's personal life. There is a great debate and great social churn in our society about evolving nature of marriages and role of husband and wife. Kejriwal had a love marriage, he has shown the ideal of finding a woman, proposing her and convincing her to be married to him. And then, he has chosen a woman who is equally educated and capable. While Kejriwal's wife earns, runs and manages the finances of the house, she has freed up her husband to be able to take up his passion, running an NGO and bringing governance and justice to deprived masses. While doing all this, I heard Kejriwal's daughter's interview, she appeared humble, grounded and since she cleared IIT we can say that her education was well taken care of. Kejriwal as a husband thus presents an ideal. Many women on Quora would vouch for such qualities in a husband who gives his wife the space and opportunity to lead the personal life. He also hasn't run away from the responsibilities of running his family and social duties just because he wants to be involved in public life.

Arvind Kejriwal is not just a hero, he is an ideal, a maverick, an enigma, an inspiration to millions, a leader of masses, a man with successful professional, personal and public life. All of these packed in before the age of 50.
