Haryana politics
Press Note: Nov 01, 2014
The new Haryana government has launched a Swachh Haryana Abhiyan, in line with the central government's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The event is planned for a period of Nov 1 to Nov 7.
Aam Aadmi Party Haryana welcomes the move which is in the interest of our society. Swachhata is something our volunteers & leaders have always been very sensitive to & have been proactively taking initiatives at our end to help develop a culture of cleanliness. The party calls on its dedicated volunteers to join & participate actively in the cleanliness campaign.
Aam Aadmi Party Haryana urges the new government to take the initiative forward by developing a structural mechanism for waste management and cleanliness rather than limiting the program to mere photo ops, as is being seen with the campaign of central government. We hope the government understands that cleanliness is an ongoing process and urge the CM not to make it a one-week cosmetic event. We would also demand from the government that apart from raising genuine concerns for cleanliness, it should also review and improve the poor living/working conditions of our safai-karmchaaris.
We again happily welcome the drive and request our volunteers to actively participate in the Swachhata campaign. Let us all join hands with 'Jhaadus' in our hand to clean up the dirt.
